That's probably cause he doesn't really know **** and just gets his info from magazines and other people's experience.

But don't worry I'm sure he'll come up with something soon, surely MM+FF has done an article on it....he just has to find it.

new upper and lower intake, more exhaust upgrades and a cam swap are good places to start.

350 is a fairly easy task even with an N/A setup. If you wanna add a supercharger or turbo the power capabilities are endless, it's all gonna depend on what the rest of the motor can handle. You can't expect to throw 20 PSI at a stock motor and it stay together for very long. Although 5.0L bottom ends are pretty stout and you could easily make that kind of power without hurting the bottom end.

Never dynoed mine but my friend has a stock engine cobra intake
b cam 42lb injectors, 65 tbody and exhaust and makes 375 at 10psi.
he is running an s trim also. I think more then 10 or so lbs
you could blow your stock head gaskets. High volume oil
pump and electric fan would also be good investments.

If you guys really like this site, knock it off with the swears, at least stay away from the f word and such.

PS. this site has been real well behaved since I got here, I really like it, it's like CCA used to be.
I guess at least you didnt use the F word.

I totally agree with the electric fans. If you have the money, an electric water pump IMO, would be cats ***.

I would imagine swapping the clutch fan and pulley driven water pump would be good for 10-20hp, in fact, any time you can eliminate belts and belt driven accesories from your motor, it'll free up power which is why I'm in love with electric water pumps and fans.

I actually had my old man, convinced to make the swap on his 94 Exploder untill it burnt to the ground.

Sorry, I guess I missed your post or forgot to reply to it. Either way, with that MPH your car would be a low 14 second car with lots of traction. Boost is irrelevant, it depends on which model you're considering. Twelve pounds of boost from a Novi 2000 is not the same as twelve pounds from a Paxton SN93. I'll just assume you want the newer Novi 1000, which is a very good introductory blower and can make some good power. With just the blower bolted onto a very mild "bolt on" car (full exhaust, gears, subframes, fuel pump) I would expect 300rwhp at 10-12lbs of boost.
I would suggest an aftermarket intake such as the Cobra, Holley Systemax 2, or even a stock Explorer 5.0 intake (aka Cobra/GT40) mated to some GT40 cast iron heads and port match the intake and heads, combined with a 65mm TB, 36lb injectors and calibrated MAF, and a matching cam. If you've got the typical 5.0 5 speed hatchback that weighs roughly 3200lbs, 3.73 gears and want to maintain good driveability I'd suggest the Steeda #19 cam with some 1.7 roller rockers or a Comp Cam XE274HR if you want something more aggressive. I think the above setup will net you 350RWHP with less boost, and you'd probably hit close to 400rwhp with 12-14lbs of boost.
Also, I strongly advise against high volume oil pumps. They are not beneficial to street motors and they are definitely not required. A stock oil pump is more than fine.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the info guys, I appreciate it! I will probably be looking for a Novi1000 or S-Trim, what kind of SC would you guys recommend for the application mentioned above?

I'd recommend the Novi 1000 kits. If memory serves me right, its just a head unit swap from upgrading to the Novi 2000 as the brackets are all the same. Not 100% sure on this, but the Novi is a much better blower than the S trim. Also, if you're on a budget, from time to time you can find a complete used Powerdyne 6lb blower kit on www.thecorral.net for under $1000.

IMHO your wasting money on a powerdyne Go Vortech or paxton,
You can upgrade with both and get 15lbs out of the lower units!

I wouldnt say you're wasting it, if you're on a budget and cant afford a Paxton or Vortech you can get a complete Powerdyne 6lb kit for as low as $650 US! You cant go wrong with that. I definitely recommend the Paxton SN1000 if you can spend the money.
