Question side exhaust

cant remember if i asked this, sorry if i did
just wanted to know how would i go about making a side exhaust on the vert, would i have to make a pipe that would have to return from the back to the side, or can i go straight from the front maybe by canceling out the cats

thanks

It wont be easy on a GT, as any side pipe will burn and melt your factory side skirts. Ditching the cats wouldn't really help as you'd have no place to put the mufflers. If you came up with a creative way to make it actually look good and not cheesy, you could find a set of side exit mufflers designed for the 94-04 Mustangs and adapt those to work. Those have the inlet and outlet of the muffler on the same side, and use a J bent exit pipe which exits into the side pipe. It'll be hard with the GT skirts, and I doubt it would look good with the factory skirts. Good luck.
