Everyone seems to be forgetting the key modification when it comes to turbo cars...

The Exhaust!

That will give u the biggest gains if u up the boost.

Zlatko has a little shameless behaviour in the past
Chip is ok if you dont much care for the turbo's well being.

Certain chips allow it to spin beyond it's safety specifications, causing damage, even failiure to it.

Just do a turbo upgrade, i know a shopw with good prices.

chip it... change the intake and exhaust, let the car breathe better and safely with the stock turbo. if you have the coin, do an intercooler and b.o.v. to reduce turbo lag and relieve pressure...

a chip will make you run richer and up the psi to something that may not be safe with stock parts... grab some guages... a boost controller is a good idea. i'm running 19 psi, which is high.. but you can safely run 14-16 with stock piping, well sorta... , you should upgrade the exhaust for sure. the bigger the piping the better... 3" is pricey, but if you upgrade the turbo later, you'll need 3" all the way through.... turboback, high-flow cat, 3" piping... yeah. you can get away with 2 1/2" piping if you stick with the stock turbo. get a p-flow or a cold air intake... AEM makes a good cai for 1.8T's.

Um, injectors...

if you want serious horsepower, upgrade the turbo, get some ecu tuning done, change everything that needs to be changed, exhaust/turbo manifold, everything... it's hella expensive. if you wanna make your ride quick and fun, chip it, let it breathe better and do suspension. it all depends on what you wanna do.
