these are the figures that internet auto guide has for the two vehicles, which differ by very little. Just to back it up, i'll look for more sources in case these numbers aren't good enough.
here is the search i did. came in with the 2005 GT at 3425lbs, and the 1998 Z28 at 3439. Weight is just not an issue |

the difference between the new model's weight, and the new edge(1999-2004),sn95 (1994-1998) is no more than a hundred lbs. either way. they stayed right around 3400 lbs. for those years, and the fox bodies were as light as 3200lbs. for a notchback. |
