The role of Ford's "performance flagship" will be taken over by the Shelby GT500, a high-performance version of the Ford Mustang. It is scheduled to enter production this summer. That car is expected to cost about $40,000, far less than the Ford GT.

this has been a long time comming.... new laws for frontal crash ratings that the gt couldn't achieve ended production, and ford says that it would be too expensive to redesign it.

Meh.....was a decent looking car id take it over a Viper. Didnt they say before that it would only be limited run production car?
