can i make my magnaflow exhaust quieter?

i just bought this lancer ralliart, and the previous owner put up a soupcan magnaflow muffler, it was pretty loud, and im just wondering if there's any products that will make it quieter or do i have to switch it back to stock muffler, i dont want to be bothered by cops every 10 minutes.

Exhaust shops.... i.e. Midas, LA auto etc.... anything really.

Ask them to weld a resonator on for you in order to tone down the sound.

resonator on my turbo stang didnt help much, but i also ran a 2 chamber muffler. considera 3 chamber and resonator.

Resonators (stainless) are about $90

Well 2tone see you have a real performance oriented vehicle this is a can on a fairly stock car...A silencer chokes flow resonator kills sound vibrator through out the pipe no flow alteration

My old EG b16b stroked had 2 1/4" piping high flow cat and high flow manifold high flow resonator to a 2 chamber muffler no chrome bullshit can with a tip looked kindda like the ITR muffler but anyways sounded like your average raspy ricer b4 the resonator once i put the resonator it purred like OEM at idle and little throttle and as soon as i stomped on it and the vtec changeover it had a sweet tone to it more like a dead steady muscle car sound....Wicked....
Dont silence not the right path id first reccommend if you could scrap the muffler for something like an OE ITR axle back or make your own with like a 2 1/4" piping and use something like a Flowmaster 30 series or something and weld whatever tip you want for your bling effect...you'll be happier in the end and it'll last longer

...+1 resonator.

Had same problem, headers, 2 1/4 pipe and magnaflow muffler, loud as **** ..add 18` resonator, sounds little bit louder than stock.

fart can mufflers do nothing for you but make noise. look into a decent high flow OEM style muffler and get a nice long resonator.

wrong. straight through "fart cannon" mufflers have no air restriction, they allow for a better flowing exhaust, which in the end gives you more horsepower, even though its not much at all. On n/a vehicles you wont lose very much, if any power with an oem style muffler.
