Unhappy Curb > me.

I was going to school today and I was in rush. The entrance to the parking lot is kind of narrow so you have to make a sharp turn if someone is trying to leave the parking lot the same time your pulling in. Well the curve is usually rounded on the corner so the most what usually happens is I just bounce off the curb. My tires are designed to take the impact instead of the rim so it doesn't harm the rim and I'm going so slow it doesn't even scrap the tires. Well someone must have hit the curb prettry hard cause now their is just a sharp corner and I had to hit that corner hauling butt today. The thud was so loud I thought something major broke but it turned out I just dented the rim.

I'm kind of worried about the rim cutting the tire, does it look that bad?

...sorry to hear that... a couple months ago i was in a bank drive through, and i hit both of my tires/rims on the same side on a ******* island that was way further out than it should be... result: The tires looks like it was ripped.. the rims got a little scrape, not bad, im more concerned about the tire damage

ouch, don't worry about that cutting, if it cuts through you have other problems (the tire has to lean pretty far to get cut enough to do damage)

I wouldn't worry about it cuttin the tire. It doesn't look like it would, not to mention there is extra rubber there with the curb protector.

i did that a month or so ago. really pissed me off. i was looking in my rearview mirror and the road was banked a tad bit and has a curve so i hit it going about 30, but backed right off of it as soon as i can. but when your going 30 the rims spinning fast, so half the lip on my front passenger side is scarred. i hate it and it pisses me off so much.

Really? what size are they? is it bent really noticeable? i might just be interested in this... not right away cuz i just bought a tranny but maybe in a few weeks, depending on the size of them... and how bad the damage is to the wheel, could it hold the tire bead?

The rims are 17X8.0 (or .5). That rim along with another has minor curb marks. Unless your really close to the rims you cannot see any damage.

%$#@! I'm about to kill some college kids! I'm coming in the same lot this mourning and their are a bunch of college kids standing along the side walk and some are blocking the exit lane of the lot (which is ok since no one is leaving). But their were like 3 or 4 black girls blocking the entrance, I didn't see them until I was right on them so I slowed down and actually stopped with over half my car still in the street. They just looked at me like "who the **** are you". I tapped my gas to make the car lurch foreward and I guess they finally got the hint and moved. After that I lit them up and hauled *** through the lot. This isn't the first time this has happen, I figure if you are smart enough to go to college you are smart enough to stay out of the street, I guess I was wrong
