The Holden Monaro was around years before the GTO was introduced. The Ute is built off the same platform as the Monaro. Both are very sweet cars, and in Monaro coupe trim, there was a model called the HSV Coupe GTS... produced 400 HP... this is back in '00.

Yeah I know the Monaro was before the goat... I was just asking if the goat or monaro was based off the ute, because thats the way arch made it sound. So the UTE was based off the monaro, thats good to know. Just had to make sure this car wasnt based off that gay truck. It probably would have ruined my life.

the monaro and the ute are the same car (kind of like the chevelle and the el camino were the same)

They're different cars based off the same platform. They're related like the Camaro and Firebird are. Same platform, different body panels... although the Ute and the Monaro differ quite a bit more than the Camaro and Firechickens did.
