If your going the LS1 route in the import.. Get a older jag or datsun. I remeber awile back i was driving down highway 7 and i noticed a jag in the rear mirror.. An older 2 door im thinking that V12 is rumbling more then my 383 stroker. He rolls up beside me and has chevy bowtie badges on the fenders. He rolls ahead a bit more and it says powered by chevrolet above the plate.

Yes, it is possible to put a V8 into a 180, 240, RX7, etc. You can do anything if you have the patience, and CASH. The only problem with these conversions, is the amount of chassis strengthening. Those cars are not meant to handle the wieght, and torque of V8's. If you don't stengthen the frame, and body, you won't have opening doors, or trunk, and your hood won't line up. And it won't take long. There was a vid a while back, of a supercharged 350 small block in a 180Z. If anyone can find it, it's the grey car, and it lays rubber on a roll at about 50 mph. Not sure if it was on Streetfire or not.

LS1 swap into an FD rx-7 (3rd gen) would make a very quick car.. there are mounts that companies have made..check out v8rx7.com...if the fd's are outta your price range, look at the 1st and 2nd gens too, they have mount kits for nearly all big block chevy's, both carb and fuel injected

Instead of putting a V8 into a RX7, why don't you put a 13B into a Camaro.

If you aren't a retard, you won't blow up a rotary. Ironic how the only people bashing rotaries are the ones that don't know anything other then what they've read on the internet. And we all know how accurate information on the internet is...

ANY Hybrid 240Z gets my vote.
RB bolts right into a 240Z using Z31 hardware... but if you want to do anything that involves cornering well you will need custom stuff.

2JZ in an rx-7 over LS1? and yes i was actually thinking about buying a camaro or firebird and dropping that engine in it.

240z's, rx7's and porsche 944's are all very good choices for LS1/LT1 engine swaps. The pushrod v8's are great for the swaps b/c this engine configuration is surprisingly compact for its displacement.

Do a search for renegade hybrids on google to find out more info on the 944 based swaps.

Supra motor into a camaro? Aside from the novelty factor, I dont see the rationale behind that project. For the cost of the swap, you could expect outstanding power, fuel economy (relative term, of course) and reliability from the LS1.

How much do the older RX7's and 944s weigh? I know the 240Z only weighs in at 2250lbs (give or take).

Instead of taking a rotary engine out of an RX7 to replace it with a V8, why don't you educate yourself on the ways of the rotating trochoid before you make any stupid decisions. Ok bye.
