michelin makes an amazing passenger tire. but firestone, i cant say they do...the tires they put on the 2001 honda civic si were the lowest quality tire..and they a were a firestone. bridgestone, the sister company, makes amazing import performance tires. the potenza re92 hooked great on my old civc.
seems like niether of the compnay knows what division they want to prioritize.

With the new F1 rules you can't change tires and get gas on one stop. So they have been running one whole race on one set. Michelin has been destroying firestone all year, but with the speed through the corners on the speedway, their tires were literally coming apart. They just didn't do enough R&D to keep the tire together at high G load. Firestone has been playing catch up all year, and they have now caught up. I'll tell you if I was an F1 team owner with MIchelins I would be reveiwing my contract to see if I could get out of it.
