I hope someone from Michelin/uniroyal/bfgoodrich is reading this because I'm serious. My van has Michelin MX4's on it and I was going to buy another set, but not after that .

michelin makes an amazing passenger tire. but firestone, i cant say they do...the tires they put on the 2001 honda civic si were the lowest quality tire..and they a were a firestone. bridgestone, the sister company, makes amazing import performance tires. the potenza re92 hooked great on my old civc.
seems like niether of the compnay knows what division they want to prioritize.

No I wouldn'y get firestones for my van either. I've got Kumhos on my rabbit this summer, so I might try them. We'll see how the hold up on the dub first.

This unfortunately was 14 out of 20 cars. And probably ended F1 in the U.S.
but they've been running the indy speed way for YEARS now... why is it just this year they ed up? and what prevents it from being different next year? anyone have a site we can look at?

With the new F1 rules you can't change tires and get gas on one stop. So they have been running one whole race on one set. Michelin has been destroying firestone all year, but with the speed through the corners on the speedway, their tires were literally coming apart. They just didn't do enough R&D to keep the tire together at high G load. Firestone has been playing catch up all year, and they have now caught up. I'll tell you if I was an F1 team owner with MIchelins I would be reveiwing my contract to see if I could get out of it.
