Falken Tires..
Anyone have something good/bad to say about them? Specifically looking at the Falken Ziex ZE-512 & Falken GR Beta FK-451 ones. One of main concerns is wear. I've seen some negatives, some positives, but I'm interested in what any of you have expereinced/heard.

not sure if this helps but looks like poor wear (common for cheap tires)

The 512 is going to be the better bet out of the two that you mentioned.
Keep in mind though, the higher the speed rating and the fancier the tread pattern, the quicker they are going to wear. You're best bet would be to go with a Goodyear or Michelin if you want them to last a while.
FYI - I have Nitto 555's and 555R's, both suck. The 555's don't stick and the 555R's get about 10,000 miles of pure city/highway driving.

The nice part are the Ziex have a 36000 mile warranty, but I have heard a lot of negatives about tread wear. I'll tell ya, the Kumho Ecstas ASX that I bought are excellent, AA traction rating and the 36000 mile warranty too.

36000 miles for a $120-$140 ( depending on haggling ) tire isn't bad, though. 2 years on an actively driven car, 3 years on a moderately driven car... seems like a good price to me. I usually average about 12k a year, so that's a good 3 years for a set of tires, the Eagle tires I had only lasted 2.5 :banghead:
