Friends got me thinking.

what's a DD?

got it.
yeah i'd do that too even if i STS'd my car...
is it possible to do that!? it doesn't seem like they have a kit for the third gens :s

Do some research and you'll see that there is actually little to no turbo lag.

Their is a little more lag time because their is so much more tube to spool with. Great TC none the less, just inefficient.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but lag=backpressure=good for torque...
If what I am thinking is true then it would be REALLY efficient..Torque to get going, then once it kicks in, big HP boost. Sounds like the perfect setup for a strip car.

The A/R of the turbine has to be too small (to actually spool!) to be considered usable for really high performance. I mean, people shout - 'Hey! 450hp vs stock! It works!' - I challange them to stop, think, and ask what kind of power output you SHOULD see from a 7psi LS1? 320hp stock + 7 psi from a real turbo setup should net you 500+ hp easily. You notice that at only ~9 psi, they are using methanol injection - why? The turbo is way outside of its effeciency range, that's why. The air charge is heated too much, and detonation occurs.
Does it make more power? Yes. But I view it as a $4000 hack job of a turbo system.
