GTA police have any problems with HID kits?

Hey All,

I'm new to Toronto, just bought an RSX premium 2002, bone stock. I plan to keep it stock except for maybe some rims one day, but looking to put in an HID kit pretty soon. Generally speaking, what are the laws on these kits here? I'm guessing they are not legal, but should I expect any extra attention from them?

I'm from out west and sometimes the cops seem like they have nothing better to do than give tickets for crap like this.

An HID kit is a plug and play headlight kit. HID is High-Intensity Discharge. HID kits make your headlights look like high-end luxury cars' headlights. Those very bright white ones.

Where can i find a shop in the GTA that does HID retrofitting? I have a 1997 honda prelude, and I need somebody to install the Acura projector lenses inside my OEM headlight assembly.

Generally, you can pick these up at most aftermarket parts dealers. Whereabouts are you located? I can tell you where to pick them nearby if I have a general area. Canadian Tire can order them in for you, although they will cost a lot more than at an aftermarket parts shop.

Most shops will do anything... for the right price. Keep that in mind when shopping around shops. Also, look towards shops that are "tuner-friendly".

Toronto police may have a problem with HIDs depending on the color and whether or not you're blinding them as if you have your high beams on. They can give you a ticket for it if it's not OEM.
