>>hate Auto-trader?<<

I have many reasons of my own to loathe this franchise.
However, i am curious if people also feel the same way i do,
I would like to hear from anyone if there is anything they dislike about autotrader.

perhaps they charge too much?
perhaps they dont offer enough options to sell your car?
or maybe your just tired of their unattractive design.

voltar will become famous soon enough
The search is crap, cant specify mileage, transmission, or trim, the pulldown menu is littered with names you will never ever see

The shop I work at is also an autotrader outpost...Prior to their being bought out by yellowpages they were a great organisation to do business with. But since they've gone down hill. The new management is doing anything they can to cut costs; we can't even get autotrader pens anymore for customers to fill out their forms with! At one point they took away our p.o.s machine in favor of one of those old school slider things that takes an imprint of the persons credit card, apparently the electronic machine was costing them too much. I guess that cost them alot of business and we had our normal electronic machine back in a few weeks.
I still think autotrader is a very useful resource if your looking for a car, or just guaging the market...but in order to maintain it's status as canada's premiere vehicle classifieds it's going to need to make some changes.

Like mentioned already the option THAT USED tobe avail where u can add specific trim, models etc...not sure why this was removed...gets annoying when looking thru 500 mustang ads and all you want to see are the Cobra models or Mach1's.

Also it seems like the private ads are getting more scarce compared to say 2 years ago when i actually bought the magazine? Sooo many Dealership ads especially on 2000+ models its retarded.

The problem with AutoTrader now is that every search you do, the damn pop-up window prevents you from clicking on the first few cars on the list for a few seconds. They are actually preventing people from doing what they came there to do, and what their customers are paying for. They have effectively driven me away, as it is now the last place I look for cars.

With this site, Kijiji.ca and toronto.craigslist.ca, there are plenty of vehicles to search for. Anyone else have any good options they suggest?

auto trader

i dont really like auto traders new site. the search does work during peak hours, like in the afternoon or evening. the result set is always empty.

and you're totally right. that dam pop up is very annoying. im actually working on a site right now called theautosell.com. its pretty a free auto classifieds site. when i saw this thread, i just had to get in on it. i'd really love to hear what you guys like and hate about that site or any site.

i mean , if i was selling my car, i would post it on auto trader too. do you think they have a monopoly on the auto classifieds industry in toronto?

wow, i got a message from the admins saying not to advertise other sites.

i guess their pretty strict on that stuff.
