Hey I'm so new to this...

First off I'm new to this site... so Hi lol.

But more importantly I wanted to ask where to start with cars... I'm not so interested in being a mechanic or anything like that (its really not my thing) but I love cars themselves... And racing is something that my cuz's ex-bf wants to get me into but I dont know about it lol, where do I start with learning about cars and racing? Tell you the truth I don't know anything at all, I was never inetersted in anything except looks up until a little while ago.

welcome to the site...
now prepare to get absolutely raped by everyone here... we all find it easiest to pick on the underager that doesn't know anything.

Anyways, in regards to your question, if you want to race... you should really start with your license... no i don't mean your racing license... you might want to start with your DRIVERS license. After that, make sure you find out how to drive 5 spd. There are WAY to many ppl your age talkin everyone else when all they can drive is there mom's auto corsica... not cool. Once you've learned how to drive and burned min. 2 clutches practising, come out to one of the meets, and see how we run. Not sayin we're the pro's, but you can learn a lot just by listening to when ppl shift.

And if you're really die hard... get your racing license, you won't regret it.

In the mean-time get your sis's x-bf out and tell him to come to the races... lol with 5 bucks... (joke from other thread).

Hope this helps. Enjoy the forum... don't say too many stupid things... and don't talk about what you don't know about... unless you're in the talking section.

Well my grand parents had a 1992 topaz until last year. It had 14,000 km on it when they traded it in.

It's really a toss up. Dont buy a VW with a 1.8t or a 2 liter 8 valve engine. Both are a waste of time and space. And yes I'm a VW freak. You can buy what ever the hell you like better.

Yes buy a VW, and then you will become a mechanic for sure. You will be fixing it all the time.
