how to get better mpg

i got my license this past thursday and already i can see why people complain about gas prices. im driving the ranger 3.0. i have been babying the crap out of it since i filled it up earlier today and im gonna see what the mpg is and then i wanna try somethin like a CAI to see if that helps. any suggestions on what to get? will a CAI get me better gas mileage? exhaust? i dont want a loud exhaust or anything on here. i mostly wanna keep it stock since its not a race car or anything

Your premium is 3.50! Our regular unleaded is 3.49 today and was 3.68 earlier this week!?!

Um yeah, when I was in IL regular was 3.64... **** that ****, seriously. Ive gone broke this weekend from gas alone... I want to cruise and listen to the new stereo but its costing me a fortune! haha.

But plugs, wires, intake will help a bit too. I say if you havent already, seafoam it. That will clear so much **** out of it holding back hp and gas milage... really the cheapest and best advice I could give right now.

CAI (or replace your air filter), PCV valve, new plugs/wires/distributor, and change your fuel filter.

Exhaust mods (especially on a bloody 3.0L) will take away torque ,and will cause you to rev the truck higher to get to the same speed it would have taken you less throttle to get to. Higher revs = higher consumption.

alright sweet. sounds like im gonna get some seafoam for it, do the wires, pcv valve, and get a CAI. could the oxygen sensor be the reason for rough idle and poor gas mileage? the spark plugs and the fuel filter were just replaced, and the air filter i have now is clean as a new one.
