How much is a rear end worth?

My Camaro's is pretty noisy and I don't know of anyone local that can rebuild it right (it's so noisy FROM the last time I tried to have it rebuilt) :banghead: I've been half looking and found a stock 3.42 posi 3 channel rear end that's close enough for me to drive to (3 hrs away) How much is a stock rear worth?

Depends on the deal you find... I found 3.42s for 30 bucks, and a posi for 100.

i think she means an entire rear end.

i'd say 200 average, but for a 3.42 with posi, despite the fact that all manual V8s from 93-02 had them and you find them everywhere, theyre still around 4-600.

Yea the asking price is $280. I'm only looking for a good condition 3.42 posi 3 channel rear end and I'd prefer it be fairly close to Nebraska (damn Nebraska for being so far away from most everything ) cuz shipping costs are so high. Not sure if salvage yards are a good bet for making sure I get a 3.42 rear. idk tho how easily my rear end can be fixed cuz I'm not goin to spend too much for a couple reasons A) my Eclipse is a PITA always costing me money B) I don't have enough to cover a 2k 12-bolt and I don't imagine I will anytime soon, but I still hate putting money into 10 bolts C) there's still a possibility there's a competent person at fixing rear ends near me, but fact is the few people I know that had crappy broken 10 bolts bought 12 bolts.. there is another place I heard was good enough at fixing them, but they have you take it out of the car and then give it to them then give it back to you.. and frankly I don't know if I'd be getting back a fixed rear or fighting with them that they didn't fix it right so I'm very hesitant to go that route. Long post I know.. I just have too many thoughts running thru my head.. although I've found one that meets all my requirements I can't be sure it's in good shape till I drive with it and there's snow and salt and gravel all over and it's absolutely freezing right now so that ain't happening soon.. although were supposed to have temps in the 30s next week I think it's below zero right now

Well, its hard to put a price on a good rear end. I mean, cmon, everyone wants a rear end, but how much is it worth? I dunno. I'd need pics.
