I agree with Machismo on this one.. people are always scared when it comes to first start up. but the fact is that with the technology in the parts we use today, break in is minor. just fire is up and take it for a drive for alittle bit, then change the oil and call it done.. any race motor ive worked on gets built and thrown on the dyno for tuning. never seen one let go. the only problems ive seen with new race motors was one kept having thrust bearing problems... didn't matter how the break in period was, it would always burn the thrust out of it in 500kms.. took 4 rebuilds before we switched machine shops..

A bov is used so you don't get pressure spikes while the throttle is closed. This happens obviously when shifting gears and it also prevents the turbo from surging. Disabling the BOv is not a good idea because could cause turbo damage. Also this will not stop you from boosting, you will need to look towards your waste gate in this case.

There have been a number of threories about engine break in, its unbelievable.

best advice is if you dont want turbo some times u need to buy another daily driver and keep the turbo charged for weekends

you cant stop boosting just like that, the only think i can think of is just disconnect the intake pipe, then again computer will probably get all mess up and run super rich, my sugestion will be just leave it

I guess you can't read, the question by the thread starter has already been answered. Disconnect the wastegate actuator to leave the flapper open. Or remove the spring for an external wastegate...

im breaking mine in right now staying out of big boost ..not taking huge drives..putting some hours on street tuning make sure everything is safe for dyno then after about 2500-maybe more will hit the dyno see what she does:thumbsup:

Regular oil for 1000 kms
Drive it like an old lady would.
It'll be fine. Mine is and 70K kms its stronger than its ever been

Chillboy 11-22-2006 05:03 PM

^^^what he said.

I thought it was a trick question, you stay out of boost by not pressing the gas pedal so hard.
