I'm So Pissed Off, I Can't See Straight!
 

I swear to God, I am at the end of my last nerve with my painter/buddy of 17 years. We already went through this whole "getting put on the back burner for someone else" about 2 months ago. I flat out told him last time (regarding the GFX & Spoiler) that I absolutely would not put up with his avoiding me, by not answering his phone when I called him about the hood.

We had this hour long discussion about how much I hated it when I didn't know what was going on with my parts. So, he agreed that when it came to the hood, we would stay on schedule and get it done in a reasonable amount of time. He said it would take no longer than 3 weeks to finish it, and it would be painted and on my car by Friday, 4/14/06 which is today.

I also told him at the same time, that if for whatever reason he wasn't able to finish it, he just needed to keep me informed and let me know. I made him repeat it about 5 times, that he was NOT avoid me if he got behind, and that I completely understand when things happen......just let me know!

2 weeks ago we agreed that I would go up there on Friday 4/7/06, to do a last test-fit before he did the final bodywork and paint. I called him last Friday at about noon, and nothing. So I called him all weekend, and nothing. I got the SS grill insert on monday (which he needed to cut out the intake hole) and nothing. I finally went to his work on Wednesday at around 4:30pm to see what the deal was, but he left work early that day.

I then drove straight to his house, only to find his girlfriend there alone, and she had no idea where he was. I drove home and called his cell phone again, but just like all the other times, he didn't answer it. So, I told him exactly how pissed off I was, and that I was done with his sh*t. I told him if my hood was done by Friday that I would pay him the $500.00 I promised,(because of all the work it needed) but if I didn't hear from him, then that was it.....I would come up there and get my hood regardless of what condition it was in, and find someone who was interested in making some money.

He was also expecting the additional $1000.00 I have set aside for doing the Flames, but now after this......he won't see a penny from me! I will be at his work first thing Monday morning with a truck to pick up my hood, and I really hope he's not stupid enough to smart off to me at the time, cause I really don't feel like going to jail over this. I'm just so sick of waiting, and telling people that it will be done when he gives me a certain date, and then pulls this crap again. I bought that hood back in October, AND I WANT IT ON MY F***'N CAR! Is that too much to ask? :banghead:

I'm so sorry to hear that, having a good painter you can trust means so much. Hope this doesn't piss you off to much but I called my painted on Wednesday, he picked up the hood on Thursday, and dropped it off completely on Friday. Even if he starts to charge more I will contiue to go to him because of this. I trust him completely and unfortunitly I have been in your situation before but that is what forced me to find a new guy which ended up being the best thing I've ever done.

that really sucks goodluck on that. Are there any other local shops that would do your flames?

That blows. My body took 2 weeks when he said 1 on my hood scoop, but it's done and on now. Looks like he did it in about an hour though...

I have a 9mm semiauto handgun. Just let me know if you need to borrow it.

Can I borrow it for nextyear ha ha.. there is muggings on my school's campus because its an old school and a ghetto rose up around it.

:D Unfortunately I've had to think about what might happen when I see him. For both of our sakes, I don't own a gun, and that's because I've have a serious anger problem. I'm still on probation right now for aggrivated assault, and have attend anger management twice a week for another 14 months, so I'm afraid if I end up going there by myself, I might not be coming home.

Not to keep bringing it up, but I'm the only family still in the area that can take care of my oldman, (cancer) so as much as I'd like to take my 5 months worth of frustration out on his face, my biggest fear these days is losing my freedom again.

But you're absolutely right Chad......I now know that finding a new body/paint guy, is without a doubt a must. Sure, I'm irritated that he doesn't answer my calls,.....but what gets me the most, is that he tells me he needs the job so bad because he's so broke from child support, yet it takes him months and months to get it done....all the while I'm waiting with money in hand for my parts, but can't get him to come through. I'M DONE....FINISHED......NO MORE! :banghead:

If he ends up with a broken jaw on Monday, it will be because he "physically" tried to stop me from taking my own hood back. If he's smart, he'll know better than to even open his mouth when I get there. He needs to just keep on working and watch me as I grab my hood and walk out the door. And yes, I do know another guy that is good with glass work and paint, so it shouldn't be a problem other than getting into his schedule.

As far as the flames go, I'll probably have to bag that idea, because I've never seen another set of flames I've liked since seeing Jeff's. Unless I can find someone who can work off a picture of Jeff's Flames. That's how much I like 'em.....they're nothing like the mailbox he did for me 8 years ago, he's gotten so much better since then.

I'm the same way when people piss me off. I found out some kid keyed my camaro and bashed him with a baseball bat, and the mark wasn't even that bad.

When you go to get your hood, just take it easy, and try not to pound his face in. I mean, if he physically tries to stop you, it's up to you.... but it definatley wouldn't be worth going to jail for.

No, you're absolutely right about that. I only paid $500.00 for the hood, and I'd easily pay 500 bucks just to stay out of jail, but like I mentioned.....if he physically tries to stop me from taking my own property, then I'll consider it self-defence and do what I gotta do. :ne_nau:

just make sure someone's with you to be a witness if sh*t goes down.

yeah i know how that feels i droped off my rear panel about 2 months ago and he kept tellin me to call him on the weekends to see if he had do it or not...i did...and stoped at his work, he said he will get it done soon...i was ok, give me a call when its done...i stoped by wednesday...and he said he will have it done this Sunday...well i hoping bc the car is going on the road monday or tuesday...if he doesnt do it i have many people i can give it to to do paint on...but man im sorry to hear about this...i hope this gets settled out between you and him...

Hey guess what i called him at about 7.30 and asked him he had got my panel done...he said he was to busy today when he told me he would get it done for me today...i was so pissed and atop of everything else that happened today...that made it worse...Im so pissed im tired...
