Local car shows...maybe it's just me, but...

It seems when I visit most of these local car shows, there's arrogance aplenty amoungest some of these car owners. As I pass by, I hear things like "I'm really sick of showing my car and answering all these stupid questions" and "Yeah the old guys show up like they're trying to re-live the sixties or something...I can't stand them".....and other owners just flat-out ignore you altogether and huddle up with thier buds off to the side and BS.

I asked a guy what size the engine was in his car because it looked like a huge engine, and if he had it dynoed yet. He just said "yeah", and turned back around to talk to someone else. So the obvious next Q I asked was, how'd it do? He spun back around and says, "700 plus". So I ask, "how much TQ?" He then told me all I needed to know. He said -"Who cares about TQ?, all I want is HP"....He then turned around and ignored me further..... Then why'd he put a big inch engine in the thing in the first place if all he cares about is HP??? :banghead:

If that's what being in a car club is like - count me out. -Or maybe it's just me...

Anyone else gotten "talked down to" at these events?

only negative experience ive had at a show, i was checking out some guys LT1 Z, it seemed pretty built up, full drag car, well i was lookin underneath the front end, at the k-member and such and he comes up and says, hey dont look under my car. i felt like saying, then why the **** did you bring it to a show. i was not touching or anything stupid like that either, just bending over taking a look. werd

i hate jackasses like that. I have some of those at the carshow I went to a couple weeks ago in my hometown. I see a couple every now and then, generally its older guys.

THen there was this time I was at CSF, and everyone from PC.com were douchebags about showing their cars? wtf? haha Im JK

CSF was actually probably the best show Ive been to straying away from that.

I typically just hear **** about dropping 10k+ into a v6.

Oh, and the vinyl decals on the side make them laugh. Too bad I laugh at them when I tell them I got my Sparco **** for 1/2 price for doing that
