Looking at buying a car

Hey guys im looking at buying a new car, well not a new car but a new car for me. Im 17 years old and going to college next year so im going to need something that is going to be pretty reliable and I wont have to put a lot of money into but I can still have fun with. What do you guys recommend? Im not looking at spending more than $4000 which I know is not a lot to get a descent car but what do you guys think. Right now im looking at

Mazda Precidia's (because I ownded one before and loved it)
Chevrolet Cavalier 95+
Pontiac Sunfire
Honda Civic 92+ sedan/HB but too common for my liking
Ford Probe
Pontiac Grand am

anywyas thats all I can think of well what do you guys think and if the car isnt on the list just let me know

no cav, no sunflower, no precidia cause it is borderline homoerotic.
if you want something cheap on insurance, relatively cheap on gas, AND can have fun with buy an oldschool nissan truck. cheapest on insurance you will find. well all oldschool small trucks. but nissans are fun, and have that crappy ka24 that has some nice potential

You can try a FC RX7, they are relatively cheap on insurance compare to civics and integras, and they are great to drive.

get a Ford Escort GT mid 90's...reliable, cheap parts, good gas mileage and can take a beating as long as u change the timing belt when needed.

Cavi's and sunflowers are also cheap if you can score one with low km's.

^ You don't *need* to change the timing belt, the engine is a non-interference design, which means the pistons will never touch the valves.

Very good idea. Why worry about changing a timing belt when you don't even have valves! They aren't the greatest on gas though...

If you don't want the Civic, which is by far the best option, get the Cavalier.. the Z24 has good stock power, tons of options and cheap to fix
