Looking for someone who can tune an Electromotive TEC II

A friend of mine has installed a standalone system on his car and is looking for someone to help him get the car up and running. The standalone is wired up, it just needs to be programmed to get the car started, and then tuned (if you aer capable). Local shops are busy and want a retarded amount of money to tune it... He's in Oshawa.

how much do you think you should pay for someone to tune a full standalone? couple hundred dollars? Your dreaming. It takes about a good few couple of days straight for your car to run smooth. Especially wihtout a base tune. Question would you tune a car for week straight for a couple hundred dollars. If anybody reading this post thinks i'm a idiot for saying it should take a good full couple of days to tune a stand alone you really don't know anything about full stand alones. For example it will take probably a full day to tune ideling (cold and hot). That is the easy part.

By the way electromotive tec II is some stone age junk tell your buddy to buy a real stand alone if his car makes enough power to need a sandalone e.g. speed pro, fcon v-pro, motec.

I know what you mean, its just a bit surprising when they say that they want that much money to tune it. The customer obviously doesn't know what's involved which is why they are paying someone to tune it in the first place. But I can't see it taking longer then a day to tune a car... if you know what you're doing.

TEC=TOMS engine control. Did you have to send the ECU back to Japan?

What?!?

I wasn't talking about TECTOM (that japanese tuning software)...

As for Tec2... yes it's old... but the current version TEC3 is up there with the rest of them, from what I've read.

What you need fred? I can probally set up a table that will get the car started. What are the engine specs. A VE table would be needed to make the injection setup relatively close out of the box.

Do you guys have a laptop with the most recent software? The older DOS based stuff sucks. WinTEC and WinTEC2 are much better.

What is he using for an ignition? The direct fire coil packs or is he triggering an aftermarket box? Also what wheel is he using for the crank position sensor?
