usually you can find out how much its off by going past one of those speedometer radars to show you your speed. If you can find one.

Those things are always off. I go past one and it says im going 4 more than what Im going. Pretty sure they just do it to make you think you can go 4 mph over so they can pull you over for speeding... just my theory.

ive seen acurate ones, i was going 25mph in the escalade by one and it said 25mph

usually its the speedo gear that gets changed, i don't think you would need an ecu tune.... right??

On some cars... my friends stang just needed a speedo gear, but maros need tunes.

Radar picks up larger vehicles much more accuratley than smaller ones.
I've gone by some that jump around and say I'm speeding up when I've got my foot on the brake.

By the description, it sounds like it is the right one. Glancing through Summit, it looks like there is only one part number for the 8.5" GM rear ends through a few different companies. So...I don't think you can go wrong.
