The LS3 has Displacement on Demand and is a 6.2 over the LS2 the rumor is its a 450hp motor but I guess its only 430hp. Search Corvette forums I sure they know alot of the info on the LS3.

Im sure they said the ls2 was going into the 5th gen Camaro...Im sure that the ls7 wont be faded out that fast since it just came out in the C6 and has been a very good engine, Im sure the ls8 or ls9 will come into play into the future of course, well they did fade out the ls1 when the c6 came out.

This,
If the new camaro stays around the GTO’s curb weight, 3700 lbs., chrysler has less than no chance of beating it. Let’s say that the new camaro comes out with the 425hp LS3 motor that is currently in development. At 4200 lbs, the Charger would have to have approx. 490-500hp to even compete. If the Camaro SS gets the LS8 option, also in development at 530hp, the mopar would need well over 600. Now that mopars are being built with these heavy ***

did not know that, but is that from GM them selves?
What are rumored engine options?
There have been several engines thrown out there for use in the Camaro. The only thing we know is that these engines are NOT in production now.
Rumored:
-3.6 Direct Injection DOHC V6
-6.2 LS3 (Due to replace the LS2 next year as GM's standard RWD V8 performance engine, aka Corvette engine)
-Supercharged 6.2 - Not much is known about the engine other than there will be a positive displacement blower sitting on top of the LS3. There are rumored to be three variants, two intercooled versions called LS8 and LS9 and an as-yet unnamed version w/o the intercooler. The first application of the 650hp LS9 is believed to be the upcoming Caddy Escalade V, with the Corvette "SS" or "Z07" $100,000 supercar being next.
(my thoughts) looks like they are going in the right direction

Be smart and think, ford mustang has like 100+ differnt models and GMs V8s are only a select few so really there less compared to Ford and yet there all better....Gas and EPA ratings are changing so GM is working hard to get there V8s to pass so they keep being the best with small block V8s. If we had it calebs way the C6 would still have a LT1 in it.
