MTO inspections on 1980 and older cars.
Who here has been inspected by MTO **** on roadside ( or anywhere) . How hard did they check you over??. Did you get off easier then the rice guys??..Thanks..77.

my understanding is MTO officers are mandated to check commercial vehicles; pickups, transports etc etc...
They can inspect any vehicle, but again, unless theyre maybe partaking in some sort of road side inspection, i wouldnt worry. Ive never been hassled, ive even gone to the scale to weight my car. :thumbsup
and yes, you HAVE to pull over for them

i drive a rather clean looking del sol i and got pulled over 3 times last years by those mto guys. and by the way they have as much athority as the cops as far as traffic violations go and criminal offences.

They have to apply for security guard licences and go through "the mirror test".
If the mirror fogs up when held in front of their mouth or nose, then they pass the test and are given MTO officer status.

My car hasnt had those things with the honeycomb shaped stuff in it since 1985.It was certified that way so it must be legal?? ( yes it was meant to be a dummmazzz statement , relax). I,m also gonna put the cannister thing back on. I read in a an American parts catalogue , like Summit or PAW . They were selling 2 half pieces that you put over your existing exh pipe weld it together and it looked like a cat. Probably will get 2 after market ones put in , but that will take up more space needed for the X pipe dammmittt. Next problem is how do you put an egr valve onto an aluminum high rise 4 bl intake ??.
