My car is not meant to have nice things....

I suck at the modding of my car apparently.

I spend $900 on a fully custom exhaust, and the bastard keeping banging on my panhard bar. Every bump I get a huge CLANK. My one consolation is the fact that the sound of the exhaust usually drowns everything else out.

And then there are my wonderful black / clear corners. Worst $45 I spent, ever. I was coming home today and noticed that my left blinker wasn't working, and lo and behold, my $10 Silverstar bulb busted in the driver's side turn signal. These lights constantly fog up and collect water (and yes, I DID reseal them). I guess it was only a matter of time before one of the bulbs broke....I only hope the whole socket didn't get fried, or I will really be pissed.

Oh, and my A/C doesn't work. I seem to have a problem finding the right pulley assembly to get it working again.

Am I the only one who just feels like selling their car and starting over with something else?

One thing about your turn signal, not sure if you tried or not.. I realized I needed those rubber seals that go around the bulb opening off my stock set.. Mine burned out quite a bit, but ever since I put those seals on my corners, it hasnt burned out again so far.

it dont matter what you got you will always have a few problems tell you get everything ironed out. Thats my opinion. I love camaros to much to ever start over on anything else. But i know what you mean. My windshield cracked from heat and cold when i washed it one day. Then i was at a jacked up atm thing and i ended up getting my drivers mirror broke off witch jacked up the finder. But ill get it all ironed out in the end. I just keep after it as the money comes.

well you can get a different panhard setup that is made for custom exhausts.

the clear corner issue...as obvious as it seams...paar is right. when i swapped the clears on my TA one of the rubber seals fell out and i didnt notice it. so the moisture broke the bulb (hard as hell getting pieces of the glass out) so i used silicone and it didnt work. then i noticed the rubber seal stuck to the old corner lense...put it back in (after cleaning the silicone off of course) and no more problems.

as for selling your car and starting over...dont do it. i felt the same way with my z28 so i sold it for my trans am and look what happened...rear end went out, pressure plate lost its strength...

its just the nature of these cars. my boss told me its cuz nothing in the powertrain is strong enough to handle the torque our engines create, not to sound arrogant, hes had a lotta experience with these things...

but it is a good way to look at it

when i had my camaro i sometiems had feeling of selling it to get something else, but when i had to loose it and get something else i wish i coulda kept it forever. like that saying "you dont realize what you have until you lose it" when your car is gone you gonna say man what was i thinking. sleep on it, work stuff out, and everything will be cool man. if moddifying cars was easy, everyone would have one. good luck man

Thats it?? How about workin on your car for two months straight swapping salvagable parts from your old burned car to your new one, figuring out what you need only to have it not start when you are done. Take two days diagnosing EVERYTHING then deciding you have to rip it apart. Then take another two days to rip it all apart only to find out you did everything RIGHT and spend another two days putting stuff BACK on the same way and have the car decide to start right up.

But yes, there have MANY times I have considered a "FOR SALE" sign for the windshield on my car as the final modification...hopefully this spring goes better..
