New Issue of GM High-Tech...

Alright, just got my new issue today...and I was reading the "Blue Ice" article, 99 Trans Am, P-1SC, OBX intercooler, etc....My question is, it's claiming he's got 530rwhp, A4, 3200 stall, etc. And in his best times....12.1@118 with a 1.9 60ft....is it just me or is that WAY off for a sc f-body? I mean, I'd possibly run very high 11's/low 12's if I hook up with my 4k stall and the mods I got now. I run a 12.7 right now with a 2.0 short time. Does anyone else see anything wrong? Anyone else read the article?

You Entered:
Vehicle Weight - 3500 (lbs)
Trap Speed - 118 (mph)
Drivetrain Loss - 20 (%)

Results:
Rear Wheel HP - 390.5
Crankshaft HP - 488.1
Power to Weight (rwhp) - 9 (lower is better)
Power to Weight (crank hp) - 7.2 (lower is better)
from the smokemup.com calculator
so either he's got a ton of drivetrain loss or he's not at 500 hp (using the et I get teh same thing)

Just going by what the magazine says. Try 3700 lbs (says in the magazine) and I think the autos are 18% drivetrain loss. idk though.

Driver prolly weighs 200lbs, the 3700 is raceweight. Still not wear it should be though for the hp it's claiming.

and given that the hp with speed, and et match it kind of eliminates traction issues

I have the issue whythe car weights so much is all the sterio equpment. its running 7psi! I dont think the stall is gonna do that much remember it robs power aswell to make power. I think the 12.1 is decent for it it just cuz its supercharged dont mean its gonna be an 11 sec car. Adam I wouldnt get your hopes on the 11s. I bet it goes 12.3 - 12.5

Just going off of what I've been told by several people. Most people (no cams or nothing, just bolt ons and suspension work), with some ET Streets, lightweight wheels, and a high launch have easily cut .6-1.0 off they're 1/4 with this stall/gear combo. That's where I got the high 11, low 12 from. I know I won't be able to do it now, Nitto's won't hold a launch over 2600 from what i've heard.

if he's shifting he's an idiot, other than that driver is eleiminated since the speed and et match so he's not spinning tires, unless he's comming off teh line at half throttle
