No more one wheel peels

As of 6pm tonight, my car is true RWD now :)

Got the 3.42s and posi installed today, took him about 6 hours went back and got it... He was supposed to weld my egr, but said he couldnt hear the leak, which I dont know how. And he said he couldnt hear the other noise my cars been making, so Im prettymuch firguring hes deaf.

Anyway, god I ****** love the gears. Having your car go sideways when flooring it gives me a bone. Car definitly gets up a little quicker also.. Although I need to go get it tuned, so Im hoping that will be this week.

Anyways, I definitly have spring fever now. Ill be breaking in the dual burnouts in when I get my new wheels on. 2 weeks, Ill have some vids for you :D

Awesome man! glad you were able to get it back so soon. im pumped to ride in her this spring

blue89vert 03-10-2007 11:56 PM

sweet! reminds me of when i put my new rear end in. that was one of the best days of my cars life haha but not for my rear tires

paarman97maro 03-11-2007 01:10 AM

Im curious... The only thing is that when I turn, the back sqeeks a little bit. Wonderin if I should be concerned, or if thats normal with used parts.

NoRiceInside 03-11-2007 01:34 AM

squeaks how? my tires kinda do in turns. its normal for LSD.

paarman97maro 03-11-2007 01:56 AM

No its not my tires, sounds mechanical. It just makes a creaking sound. Its only when I make turns.. I figured it is probably nornal for a used posi with gears that were never in it.

NoRiceInside 03-11-2007 03:18 AM

well it could be the clutches in the diff. there should be 1.5 qts gear oil and then a bottle of limited slip additive.

the noise from used gears would be a whine. all gears will mesh only one way, and that is the way they were first set up. its possible to get em to mesh the same way again, but only in the same rear end with the same carrier. different cases and carriers have different measurements and, althought minute, they still make a difference with gears. its that precise.

just curious how much did it cost u to get it all installed cause i really need to do that too im tired of the whole "one wheel wonder" thing

69z-28 03-11-2007 09:42 AM

thats awesome paar. good to get some nice added "fun" mods in there every once in a while. gears are one of the things i never got a chance for cause when i replaced my rearend it was a killer deal and had stock gears so i said screw it.

is your posi unit a normal auburn/eaton style with the clutchs or its possible it can be a torsen rear end. it depends what kinda car it came out of, but with the torsen rear ends, they have all gears inside with worm gears that much lots of noise.lol. just something to think about.

Mikerock 03-11-2007 03:48 PM

i wanna see some ******* pictures paar. put your wheels on too.

98CamaroZ28 03-11-2007 06:33 PM

Very nice Paar, I hope it makes a big difference when I install my 4.10's.
