Not too happy..
Well as you all know I have 18" American Racing Rebels. My tires in front I believe are 245's and my rears are 275's.. But anyway, ever since I got the rims they have rub a TINY bit on the wheel well. The place that put the tires on said that it would be fine, because its not that much..
Well my steering wheel also since I got the rims have vibrated (bad) and would pull to one side or the other(Like hard jerks).. So I took it back to them and said that it does that and they said "oh the weights must of fell off" so they put more on. Well they still vibrate at higher speeds.
After this winter I put my rims back on and decided that I would get them aligned (various people told me that would help) Well I did that and now the front tires rub ALOT more.. Enough to hear the tire hitting! :banghead: I am really not happy right now.. Because now I am going to have to call and get another apointment to get the tires re-aligned and balanced. Is there anyway that I keep the tire from rubbing?
Has anyone else had problems with the vibrations,pulling, or rubbing like this with their 18s? Im sick of ******* spending money to fix **** over and over because they never do it right.. Or could this vibrations be from something different?

well working at a tire shop i see this a lot. sounds like either severely off balanced tires or seperated tread. it may even be a poor alignment. if the tires are brand new they shouldnt be seperated so dont worry about that. what kind are they by the way?
the rubbing is probably because the rebels have a different offset than stock rims, so they sit closer to the car or something like that.
the hard jerk has something to do with the toe, or maybe caster...im not too familiar with alignments yet, but i do know its easy to screw up if you dont 100% know what youre doing...which is why i dont do em yet
anyway it sounds like you took it to the wrong place to get it aligned.

shouldn't need a camber kit unless its lowered..
If your wheels stick out too much then you are pretty much screwed, but if they are under too much you might be able to get some spacers machined to keep them from hitting..

I'm gonna assume you meant 245 in the front. Yeah I've got 245/40 18 fronts and 275/35 18 rears. My fronts stick out of the top fenders very slightly, that is the only place I could see my tires ever rubbing. But to get them to rub there I'd have to hit a bump fairly hard. I haven't noticed any rubbing while turning, maybe I'll go out later today and turn my wheels as far as I can to see if anything hits.

i run 275s up front and 295s in the back... no problems with up front but when i make a hard turn the backs rub but its nothing a hammer cant fix. my tires seem to jerk around some too but i assume the are just walking around because they are so wide and the pavement is uneven.

I checked my wheels the other day and I have about 2-3 millimeters of clearance from the front of the wheel well. I think originally your tires might have been rubbing because you have a larger overall diameter of tire than me. I know when I was looking for tires they would all be 245/40 18 but they all didn't have the same overall diameter. I'm running Toyo T1-R's.
