oh my god
no, thats not joy due to the sound of my exhaust, its fear over what i may have to do to get that damned bolt outta the engine. yeah i dropped the small bolt for the cam sensor into the cam sensor hole. i heard it hit the cam, then the crank, then nothing. i drained the oil and it didnt come out, hopefully i missed it and its out. mike suggested i use a 12 volt battery and a long screwdriver and make a nice magnet and get it out...any other suggestions besides removing the oil pan?
i'm thinking its not that big of a deal. oil in the sump goes straight to the oil pump pickup, and that has a screen over it. so the bolt shouldnt be a problem, but i need it for the cam sensor and i'd feel more comfortable knowing its out.
anyway heres a pic of the hole i dropped it in, and then the screw:

Go to your local auto parts stores and buy one of these. When I was changing my coil I dropped a bolt and it ended up under the water pump and behind the balancer. All I had to do to retrive the bolt was do a little fishing.

i gotta remove the y-pipe, starter, bellhousing, then unbolt the motor mounts and hoist the engine up a bit. thats why i dont wanna do it. and about the magnet thing from autozone, i used one at javiers and it ended up breaking and i lost half of it in the engine, luckily, i was taking the engine apart anyway. even though it'd be brand new and prolly wouldnt break, i dont trust them. it might get stuck to the cam or crank and then i'd try to pull it up and it would fall apart then i'd really be ******.

I guess the only thing left would be to run a strong magnet around the pan and see if it will pick up the bolt (it is in tha pan right). How big is the drian hole, can the screw fit through the drian hole?
