The Price Of Used Imports

The Price Of Used Imports
So I am looking through the current pages of the import cars for sale section of this website and I see 8 year old plus cars going for 8000. These cars are worth 14 new. slapping on a few oem sir or 00 parts does not justify this price. Something we must all realize is that buying that 6000 car and putting 2000 into it does not justify an 8000 price tag. Cars are money pits, they never appreciate, only depreciate. That crappy 91 civic that you bought 3 years ago and slapped a b16 into it does not justify a 4000 price tag either. This is an issue that must be attended to. Supply and demand of these little econoboxes allows them to depreciate LESS. You will NEVER get the money back that you put into your car. no matter what. you may get 30% of it back if you sell to a person with any sort of intellect.
My next order of business is the person with little to no intelligence. Sell your cars to them and get 140% of your cars worth, plus the money you spent on parts, crank that price up and do what you gotta do to take all the money you can from these ricers. Just don't yell at me when I "lowball" you for telling you the price i will give for what your car is worth.
Good Day.

man, dont worry. Its happening in the domestic world too. Mustangs worth no more than $6500-8000 going for $15000 +.
Cars sit, they get old.
The value of the vehicle really is determined by the buyer, not the seller. Seller can make any price he wants, but unless someone buys it when hes selling, aint really worth it.
And yea, ive seen some 93 civics trying to command $12,000.... and most cant prove its got anything legit on it....
No thanks..

i dont live in the afterthought of what i think its worth. i know what theyre worth. i wouldnt pay 12gs for a beat to *** 93 civic and i wouldnt pay 15 for a 93 mustang.....

When and if I ever sell my car, I will sell it for slightly more then market value, because it does have some aftermarket parts. Not by much of course, but maybe 1-2k. I think it's reasonable. First off if someone were to buy a bone stock car and try to add what i have, it would run them significantly more. And secondly, even regular people who sell cars jack up prices if something has been replaced, such as, new shocks, new brakes, new tires, whatever.
I do understand though that I will take a hit, but I'm not going to render all the work put into the car valueless.

agreed part out those crappy *** apc parts and sell that piece of for what it's worth. In other words, call a junkyard that picks up scrap metal for free. let old civics, mustangs, or any car that is not worth over 30 000 new rot, rust, burn, explode, implode, or whatever form of hate you can exert on your new found box of scrap metal.. not directed at anybody posting or trying to justify the price of there shitbox. but lets all accept we are young and stupid and we might as well put our cash in a plastic bag and throw it out the window while our pos is cruising down the 401 shaking like an old washing machine.

i agree... especially if there is a lot of aftermarket on the car... buying a modified vehicle is usually cheaper then an original stock one, providing what the modifications are.
