Procedures of buying a used car.

Procedures of buying a used car.
So I looked at this car with my mechanic. Everything's fine. The car has already passed ETest this year so all I need to do is the safety.
What are the exact procedures? I will be dropping off a deposit soon. I called my insurance company, got a quote, everything will be fine with insurance. But in terms of picking up the car, how does it work?
I guess I will meet the seller at MTO with the rest of the money. Once we signed the documents and the ownership, where do I go from there? I've had a car/insurance before but it was always under my father's name to lower the insurance cost. But since I will be purchasing the vehicle this time, I will have to get my own plate right?
Can you guys help me out here? After paying the seller in full, what are the next steps? And will I be able to drive the car back home after paying in full (like a temp permit)?
Thanks in advance!

get a copy on the ownership and take it to the insurence company, they will cover the car till you get to the mto and get your plates...you can then call them and tell them the plate number.
i just bought my ws6 a few months ago from a guy, i called insurence they gave me a temp insurence card i took that to the mto bought my sticker and plates, swaped the plates in the parking lot and drove the car home, called the insurence company im with and gave them the plate number and they sent me the new insurence card in the mail...and your good to go.
other then that you have to purchase a used car sales booklet thats like 25 bucks tell the ppl how much you purchased the car for and junk so they car charge you tax on whatever you payed. the seller should really get this. and if you know the guy ask him to put down a lower price so you dont get killed with tax.
other then that it is very easy, if the guy is at the place with you it makes it even easier.
papers you need to have
- emissions
- safty
- ownership (signed by pre owner)
- used car booklet
and your good to go.
