Use a safe solvent to clean the surface. There are many automotive-safe solvents available. Clean the surface, then use a polisher to buff the area using a mild cutting polish, make sure you don't burn the paint. Then use a gloss on top.

Orbital polishers are cheap, and if you own an F-Body and are too lazy to hand-polish, it's a great investment.

How would you not think about that? Thats the first thing that comes to mind anytime I see, or would even be involved in an accident. Think I basically learned that forever ago.

Taking insurance > 500ish out of your pocket.

its not even 10$ worth of damage...just a small scratch...still coul dhave BSed the insurance CO and got like a couple hundred off the kid

you've never had a scratch fixed have you? A small scratch on a bumper is a few hundred bucks to fix right (gotta sand, prime, color match, and blend paint)

Exactly. ^ Some chick hit my rear bumper in my schools parking lot a couple years ago, and the quote was about 500. Was just spider webbing in the paint, and some scratches.
