Starting an event?

Well after driving around through the city everyday, i noticed that the two cities have alot more F-Bodies than what I thought, i would like to start an event such as a just car show, how would you go about to start one, i been looking around for an area that would be large enough place to do a show at, but what else besides advertising is there to do...

Talk to meissen he does car shows for his club. Find a place to hold the event. Advertising - flyers, radio ads if you have the cash. Hang the flyers in auto related stores, hand them out at other shows, hang them anywhere you can. To get people to come it helps to have incentives, such as a goody bag, dash plaque, awards, etc.. So you will need some start up cash. Goody bags you can usually get local business, places like Summit, JEGS, etc to doante things to such as sample products, catalogs, bags, little placards, stickers, etc.

Another good thing is some sort of judging process and perhaps some kind of comp for people to compete in- it can be as simple as a 'Muffler Rap-off' which is people do just that, line up and have judges behind them listen to each one rev and judge. Its simple, and is usually a good crowd pleaser. (I won the one at a local car show last summer ) If you can, a burn-out contest is always fun, but harder to get people to do since it obviously burns up tires and is harder to do since not everyone wants a ton of rubber on their pavement.

If you have food and drinks (N/A of course) it is also a good thing to help bring in crowds as well.

Other than those couple of ideas to try and help promote its just what the others have said.
