Thinkin bout a 6 speed

I need to either rebuild my auto trans or switch to a six speed I really want a six speed so hopefully I'll be able to find a good deal otherwise this guy that checked the car today will rebuild the auto with a stall, shift kit etc for 1600-1700. Would a 2300 stall be good for a mostly street/some strip car or would 2500 be better? I found this auction http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CAMAR...spagenameZWDVW looks like a good deal and I think I could find someone around here to do the swap for a few hundred bucks.

Yeah i agree!!! Try and find someone you know to do the swap!! I worked for a transmission shop last winter and they rape people for cost! Its like 80 bucks an hour. Swapping transmissions really isnt that hard tho ive never done it without the car being on a lift......could you just do it on your own?

for converter choice. 6 speed is fun for a while, but then you get older and realize they suck

I'm leaning more towards rebuilding the auto with a 2800 stall and shift kit now.. but turns out some ppl I know would be willing to do the swap really cheap. idk wut I will do cuz I drove a 6 speed (06 Honda Civic SI) last night and while it was fun I'm almost thinking I'd be as happy with an auto with a good shift kit and it would be a lot less work.

I like the auto stick on the new C6 corvettes so maybe you could do something custom like that?

yea, too bad you cant do it. haha j/k.

i agree tho, auto is just like, put it in gear and press the gas or slam the shifter if you have one of them goofy shifters or a manual valve body. either way, theres nothing like yanking on that shifter and dancing on the pedals

Auto's are for minivans and hardcore drag racers and since you're not drag racing for money I'd get the six speed. It's just so much more fun to drive.

I might be swappin a 6 in my car, i spend all the money on my new 4l60e and stall after i blew the stocker but i wish i would have went with a stick, for a daily driver i would rather a auto but i plan on buyin another car for a DD soon my bronco is too bad on gas to be drivin all year long... so im thinking of somethin else so my car doesnt have to come out in the rain in the summer and what not. anyway back to the tranny i love the way my car is with the stall and all but i can feel a slight slip in 3rd and it gota lil worse before i parked it before the snow started comin but if somethin is major and i have to drop the tranny again there is no way im puttin a auto back in there...
