the 350 was actually a 349, the gm 409 was a 396 (I think that was it) tires have been metric for decades (pretty much since radial tires came to be)

I know but if we want to talk about another topic we should have it in a seperate thread.

what's the fun in that?

69z-28 11-24-2005 08:01 AM

i hear you can run Nitto 315s on a 9.5" rim since they run skinnier.

about half way down theres a picture.

315s WILL safely fit, but ONLY if you pound out the inner wheelwells, and roll the fender return. Otherwise you risk cutting the outer sidewall, or rubbing the inner fenderwell.

MeenZ28 11-24-2005 11:34 PM

I'd love some of those Nittos right thur but price is a concirn too. Also remeber Epic is my daliy driver so i need something that will last. Kinda had my eye on those BF Goodrich g-force sports... good price and from what i've heard they are preaty reliable. I was just going to go back to my old Kuhmo Ecsta Supra 712s but the reason i have to replace the front tire is cause it got those little cancer bubbles on the side wall and i understand that these do that a lot. I dont want to have to replace these tires again in 5 months. I'd love to run 315 wide but i think Epic will do fine with 275s on the rear.

archemedes 11-25-2005 12:16 AM

BFG's are great tires, and kumhos are notorious for all kinds of stuff (I get a tire dealer trade magazine that talks about them)

Good lookin tire too.

RFF 11-25-2005 02:21 PM

Hmm, the biggest rim for a 245/45 is a 9.5 I think. This is good news, once my BFG run down I will get some 315 Nittos. Nothing like a fat tire to help with traction.
