Turbotimer

I was just wondering how exactly they work and if it would be possible to have one with my factory audi alarm/keyless entry. Or if its possible to easily disable it for example if i take it to the dealer to get serviced (don't want them to find it in case they want to void my warranty). and if so. Whats a good brand? Hope that makes sense. Thanks

I am assuming your car is relatively stock if you are talking about warranties, in which case I would recomend not to even bother with one. Your turbo is probably oil and water-cooled, you will never need more than a 30 second "cool" off time, especially with a decent oil cooler. Just don't be doing full boost runs imediately before shutting the engine off.

I personally don't use one, I do it myself.

But to answer your question, yes you can get around the alarm and the unit itself is simple to wire up. What one were you looking at?

Well its chipped but the trubo is really tiny n to make it go into that high boost I figured it would be good to get a turbotimer. I haven't looked at any particular brand I know absolutely nothing about them. But I guess you're right I could just easily wait a bit before i shut the car off.

It'd be better to wait until your factory waranties are done, then put in a bigger turbo, like a T03, and then if you really want a timer, well put it in then. I never bothered with one either.

Ok thanks guys. I was thinking more towards a K04. I think that just bolts right on. Either way this stuff is good to know so thanks again.
