Ultimate FBody diet!!!
Ok, so today I started on the ultimate FBody diet... the rear seats were already out, since I will be running a butt ton of wires for my nitrous, and I will be getting light weight carpet and my cage soon, I figured what the heck, take it all out... this is what I came up with!!! Man did it get loud inside the car... but all total I think I took out at least 60 pounds...

You have a 200 lb box on wheels, you go to push it... Not really that hard...
Now you have a 2,000 lb box on wheels, you go to push it... Not so easy...
Simple math tells you, if you have 3600 lb car making 400 HP and a 3100 lb car making 400 HP the 3100 lb car will get to speed faster... hence shortening you 1/4 mile time...
And yes... lightweight carpet makes a difference the stock carpet weighs in at about 50-60 lbs where as the light stuff (Depending on where you get it) can be as light as 12-15 lbs... You take out a 25 lb stock seat and replace it with a 13 lb aluminum seat, take out the 13 lb rear seats, take out the 15 lb passenger seat, airbag modules, spare tire, jack, rear carpet, (God Forbid) stereo, speakers... you could loose 80 lbs or more... with the interior alone... (Not saying I am removing my stereo......Yet) Then you get thelightweight K-member, A-arms, fiberglass rear lid, replace glass with lexan, lightweight wheels... You turn a 3600 lb PIG into a 2900 lb rocket!
Not practical for a street racer... however when you are fighting for tenths of seconds... It makes a HUGE difference...
