What is a good starter truck

I want a good truck that is a good reliable truck. I want to be able to nice drop and chop it or lift it. Could i get ur opinions on what would be god for each type. I think a s10 or Sonoma  ?would be good for each type depending on the trim. Also are crew cabs widely availible or a good idea, because the truck would be my daily driver all and any opinions are greatly appriciated.

well my first truck was a 1992 chev full size reg cab long box with the 4.3L awsome truck decent on gas too....then i moved on to a 1996 dodge ram reg cab short box with the 3.9 v6 this truck was invinsable i beat the out of it everywhere and it took it until the timing chain broke...so i would say go with a full size a little harder on gas but the comfort is worth it (i had 4 12" subs behind the seat in my dodge

Go with a s10 or sonoma. Though they are pricey and hold there value well. They are VERY reliable trucks. The best thing would hbe go right to fullsize because the gas will be cheaper.
