mine changed last night, I now will be rebuilding the trans in the GP that went out on me while driving down the road (it coasted into my driveway no forward or reverse)

Damn that sucks, Any plans for a stall converter while your at it?

archemedes 01-01-2008 08:14 PM

probably not, money is real tight right now, and the trans is going to be a couple grand as is since I don't have a place to do it myself (hard to do on an asphalt driveway that the jack stands sink into)

Yea I hear yah, It was a bad experience when I changed mine out outside. It was the middle of the summer so weather wasnt an issue but still never again will I get myself into that situation without a lift.

Yea haha that was a wicked setup, I dont know how I didnt get killed but I couldnt get it high enough to move the **** out so I had to improvise.

archemedes 01-01-2008 11:41 PM

well looking at it a bit closer it may not be a total loss, I think I just broke the drive chain (a ton less money, but trans still has to come out to replace it)

Bernotas05 01-02-2008 12:23 AM

Thats good, Definatly a lot cheap to replace that out than a complete rebuild.

paarman97maro 01-02-2008 11:36 AM

I want to get a manual 97 z.

Maybe after I pay off the super scort.

Woot!!!

Although I still stand by my previous saying that a DD is the best mod you can possibly buy. There's nothing like being able to put the car away during bad weather and only drive it when you want to. It's awesome seeing the miles very slowing growing on the car, you can see that you'll have it for many years to come without any problems or if you decide to sell it that yours will have fewer miles than everything else on the market so you can up the price.

Yeah.. .its gonna be a hard decision. I love my car, v6 or v8. I have a bond with it now... Its gonna be hard to find somthing to 'replace' it. Ill enjoy this next year with it, then we will see what happens after that.

Like you said before, just try to find a Z28 in the same color and it'll basicly be the same car just with more power.

archemedes 01-02-2008 09:27 PM

that's what paint guns are for

silverbullet 01-02-2008 11:05 PM

2) new brakes, possibly some rotors
3) finish my system
4) oil changes / tune ups
5) rebuild / buy another transmission
6) buy some AR thrust 2s
6) maybe sell it if i can find another z with t tops
