neww

hi, i just got my camaro about a month ago, its a 99 z28 got it out a dealer for $7,000 with 70k miles. i love it only kind of sad thing is that i got it automatic. i got after my friend got his 88 camaro iroc-z (the white one beside mines on the first picture) and its stock supercharge with like 5 boost running about 340hp. well the person that own my car before he had it fix up because he was in a car club, and well lets put it this way i win the iroc like by 3 cars and i dont know whats in it. im a totaly nooob at engines all i know is how to ride it lol. now im thinking about supercharge or turbo chargin it, what would be better?

Welcome to the family! Nice ride! Dont care too much about the wheels but the ground effects are sweet and it's great to have another vert here! Dont knock the auto too much, at least yours works. Hahahaha Welcome!

Welcome to

Nice car, wheels are not my cup of tea, but rest looks good.

As per supercharging / turboing, there are alot of mods you should probally do first before you look about going down that route. Pretty much all of your bolt on basics. Headers, CAI, Exhaust, Heads / Cam (if your interested in serious numbers), fuel pump, etc.

ya well i got it like it is, i have dont nothing to the car since i got it off the dealer, the previouse owner trade it in like it is didnt give him the stock tires, thinking of trading them for some 19'' corvette rims. and as the engine alot of people tell me its not a stock z28. i go to the races every friday and sunday night and people with other camaros tell me the same thing some tell me im running noz when i race them lol. ill take some pics of the engine tommorow and show u guys see if u spot anything different.

Actually that is not a very good idea unless he is going to supercharge. If he goes turbo, he will have to change the headers, CAI and exhaust. And if he were to go turbo, he would want a different cam made for boost.

Nice car though man. I can't wait for the engine pics...it sounds like something is lurking below the hood

Understood, but generally getting the full bolt on set is smart before you upgrade to a turbo. I understand the CAI is typically no longer useable, and the cam should be a 'boost' cam, but im just saying what is generally done to a non boosted car before it is.

Looks good! Is the color of it a dark gray? Besides a supercharger or turbo what other plans do you have for it?

ya, im use to driving camaro's i used to have a 91 and 94 z-28's both standard but bone stock but still messed around with it, never was into the fix up and make it faster type of guy. but had to sell it because of some money issues, now that im back on my feet i found this beauty and i love it, and wow for being automatic its really fast and i like i said before i want to fix it up but i never learn or care to know anything about engines untill now. i guess i got in to the race and be fast scene from all my frinds that have there fixed up cars.

Welcome to

Very nice looking car you have, I like the Wings West kit.

Both turbo and supercharger are cool. I like the turbo for the simple reason that you can adjust the boost from inside the car. Just incase you line up with a car you know you can beat, just add a couple pounds of boost and you're set. Or you could lower the boost to make people think you're slower than you really are.
