first disconnect the unit, replace the fuse and if the fuse still blows then check the connections and anywhere the cables go through the body work you may find a nick in the cable which is going to earth and blowing the fuses.
That why at least you will know it the unit not the wiring.
if your units at fault before ditching it and getting a new one from the car breakers take the cover off and see if any bits have fallen inside and touching on the terminals.
