Do I have a good engine?
I'm almost 17 and I just bought my car. I got a 97 Honda Accord LX/EX 4 Door Sedan and I was hoping for some reason that it had a v6 engine. I don't know much about cars but I've been told v6 engines are fast and all that. Anyway, I found out that I have a 2.2L L4 PFI SOHC 16V engine. Basically, wtf if that?? Is it good? Is it fast? What about fuel? Thanks in advance.
Whoa, where to start... If you were concerned with the car being fast, why did you buy a honda accord?
Basically, you have a 2.2 Liter (that's how much air the engine displaces), inline 4 (4 cylinders all lined up in a row), fuel injected (no carburetor), single over head cam (only one cam controlling the lift and duration of valve opening), 16 valve ( there are 4 valves per cylinder (16 valves/4 cylinders) engine.
Now if that doesn't make sense to you, start learning more about how your engine works, then you'll be able to decide for yourself whether or not you've got a "good" engine.
