Honda accord with high mileage?

I would love to have a Honda Accord as my first car the only problem is that in my price range it will have high mileage on it. I am looking for somewhere between a 2003-2005 under $12,000. I have found quite a bit of both but many of them have upwards of 70k miles. For my first car can I expect that even though the mileage is high, the car will be reliable and last me for a while with little maintenance and good reliability? I will begin commuting about 30-45 minutes to work come the summer and I know that the Honda is supposed to be great on gas, reliability, and also safety! So is high mileage ok? Thank you!

i will be taking out a loan for about 60 months, is it worth looking at a car with this high mileage or should I look at say a GM with only 30k miles on it...

The mileage is about right for the money and the Accord should go 150k miles easily with basic maintenance. For your first car, you can probably get a Civic, mazda 3, Sentra for much less money and equal reliability.
