I just got a 1998 Honda Accord. Everything is fine except the driver's side door lock doesn't lock or unlock unless done manually. I use the inside latch and the remote, and nothing works. All other door locks work with the latch and remote. Any ideas?(If so, can I fix it myself, where to get part(s), about how much?)Also, this is minor, and completely random, but the top to my cupholder won't shut...I guess the latch is busted somehow. Know where I could buy another?

You may have a damaged linkage to the lock. It means taking the door panel off , you need a cheap tool to remove the panel without breaking anything. Get prices for parts from an auto supply store before you start. Try a wrecker yard for the cup holder .

Most likely the plastic clip from the door latch servo to the mechanism is broken, and that's why your door lock doesn't work correctly.I've found that the dealer is actually the best place to go to locate the direct replacement part. They can bring up the parts list on computer and pick out the part you need just based on the picture.Unless you already know exactly what you need, you spend more in gas trying to find it instead of paying a slightly higher price for the small stuff at the dealer.Another option is to locate a similar car at a salvage yard and pull the door apart to find what you need, that would probably work for the cupholder too
