...or just start it? I will be in jail for a while and my car will be parked. I aam not interested in putting it on blocks or removing the tires. Therefore what are the recommendaations on having it driven or possibly just starated and letting it run for a couple minutes? Car maybe parked up to a year. Interested in preserving the mileage and overall condition of the car for when I get out.

Put some fuel stabilizer in it and make sure it gets rolled a few inches when it's started up... Ya should be good.

It depends on how humid it is where you will be storing the car. I bought an 89 Accord with 60,000 miles that was in beautiful condition except that it was stored too long in a humid location in Florida. As a result one of the piston rings rusted to the side of a cylinder inside the engine. When someone went to start the car the piston broke and the rusted metal stayed attached to the cylinder. I replaced the engine and enjoy the car very much but I realize that humid air can travel up the exaust and into the engine. If you park the car in a humid location then I think you need to start it at least once a month or use fogging oil. Here is a link on fogging oil: http://www.amsoil.com/StoreFront/fog.aspxSealing the exhaust with plastic and putting a strong rubber band on it might keep some of the moisture from going up the exhaust.Disconnecting the battery and fogging the engine are the two things I think are most important for 1 year of storage. You might see some others that interest you in this following link:http://www.expertclick.com/NewsRelea...l&ID=10971Alot of the information on storing your car can also be gleaned from those who winterize their boat motors for storage. One way to fog the engine is to remove the air filter and spray it into the engine while it is idling. The spray should make the engine quit running. The other method is to remove each spark plug one at a time and spay the fogger in. However this does not protect the valves from rusting, getting stuck, and putting a hole in the piston when you try to start it. Stuck valves probably wont be a problem with a 1 year storage. Be sure to put the spark plugs back in and reattach the wires in the right order. Better yet don't remove more than one spark plug or wire at a time. Mixing up the wires can be a pain to figure out if you don't know how to figure it out from a book.Wait until the engine is cold to the touch before removing spark plug wires. The insides break easily when they are warm or hot.
