whining noise

ive noticed a whining or whirring noise thats consistant with engine speed as it changes gears. the timing and balance shaft belt were replaced recently.could the belts be loose or too tight? its quiet at idle.

may be if the pitch varies with engine speed is the cause of whining noise from your engine. i never heard such type of noise from my engine. i really don't know much about this. I advice you to check this with concern person at your nearest.
