So many people here know all about Turbos and how they work...its funny to see someone talk/type like they know something, but show them a compressor map and they think its a rifle target...

A stock motor honda will never, can never run 25 psi not even for 1 sec without blowing to particles. You need lower compression pistons, good forged rods, forged crank...whole lot of stuff to make that kind of boost possible. Only few stock motors are capable fo that kinda boost, such as TD, or Subarus (STI only), talons...ect ect...these are all cars that were designed for boost from the start. The other thing to keep in mind is that running 25 psi on one turbo can flow the same air as 15 on another. PSI means ....its all bout CFM.

yes true, cars designed for turbos in the begining are the ones that will go the distance. and yes 25psi will tear the engine apart with out doing some serious work. I believe the most important part is proper tuning, getting the maps right for your setup is key, maybe some cheap old map for a normal increase in power is fine, but once you do your own customizing of the engine then you need a pro. Also putting the boost through smoothly is key, having spikes isnt good. Also if its an auto tranny then you would have to watch for smooth power. Bent rods will occur with too must boost so the stock rods have to go with better ones, forged. I am no expert or anything and have never worked with imports "only worked with european and a few american cars". So civics i have no real idea about. But i have worked with 90% turbo cars.

the danger with that motor is that it starts off with such a high cr... the b18c5 was designed for road course racing, thats why it has the engineering behind it to hit 9000 rpm on a stock computer (let alone what you can do if it is remapped). I think the block comes 11.5:1 ... which means MAJOR work has to be done in order to bring it up to 25 psi.

my bad its a b18c1... still higher cr than you're average d16 or b16 engine

ok, you dumbass stipid moron who wants to talk retarded , a tranny can only handle a max spike in power until it can no longer hold the power. example, you combine an awd drive system with tranny on same concept, you are limited by internal temperature, so for example again for specific tranny matted to awd system Haldex it can withstand 1000Nm of torque (737.5 pounds) which can easily be met with a 5000 RPM clutch dump. thus when the max force is received then you everything up. But if you gently add power then you dont receive the max but recieve the average power of 400bhp without the spike. So then explain why simply dropping it is so different from just building power? im in awa. I think i just got even dumber by reading such a stupid comment insulting another member without just saying....

Mr X, i am under another theory based on such and such, that this proves to be the right answer, can you research this and post another thread explaining that maybe there was a mistake in your explination.

you are pretty much correct...except the b series cranks are forged from the factory adn can handle any power that they will ever make

effiency is part of the turbo. you can have 15g vs 19t and different psi but net is different when talking about power and times.
