If you go to an Autozone or Advance Auto Parts, they will tell you what the codes are for the check engine light, and clear the light for free.

My '97 Accord has that problem -- apparently, in that year's model they overly complicated the air-flow system and the SLIGHTEST skew in the system sets off the "check engine" light.There's no functional problem with the car aside from the annoying light on the dash. (Which solved itself a few days ago when the light bulb burned out!)
