B series motor question

ive heard about alot of setups where ppl fuse the Type R head to a GSR block

whats the advantage to that as apposed to just doin a full type R or Gsr

or even a ls/vtec?

and how hard is it and whats required

and if i was to do a ls/vtec
which bottem is the best to go with

b18a b or what ever?

IntegraMark has a spectacular aura aboutIntegraMark has a spectacular aura about
type-r head or a b16 head on a gsr is pretty much called a poor mans type-r. i dunno what the point of it is but i believe it's something to do with the b16/itr head being better for flow

ls/vtec takes the low-mid range torque from a non vtec motor and mates it with the top end power and high revs of a vtec head.

building the ls/vtec has gotten easier over the years since companys now make products for these hybrids. there's a thread at the top of the honda/acura section that tells you what you need to build one of these bad boys

b18a/b are the same block. all the specs are the same

if u can honestly get your hands on an ITR Head
and your thinking of putting it on a GSR Block,
you might as well install the ITR pistons too.
And when it's done, Have fun with your new R

Since it's all apart as is... and if you have the
money and are serious about it,.... machine everything.
And bore it out to 83/84 mm, the increase in
displacement will be worth every penny.

Want more torque?
Use an LS crank with after market LS length
connecting rods, with correctly sized aftermarket
pistons (if bored out) and you'll have tons of power.

I hope your serious, cause that would be quite the
build. post pics if you do. Good luck.
